Window screen materials compared
Three meshes cover almost everything. Pick by the problem you are actually solving.
We default to PP (polyester) for most screens: it is odour-free, holds its shape and resists pets far better than standard fiberglass. Aluminum is stiffer and longer-lived but can dent; fiberglass is the light, low-cost everyday option.
Fiberglass
The affordable everyday mesh. Easy to fit, but softens and sags over years.
Aluminum
Stiff and long-lived, slightly shiny. Best where a frame needs rigidity.
PP (our default)
Odour-free, pet-resistant and holds tension. The all-rounder we recommend.
We do not claim allergen or virus filtration — our screens block insects and dust, not airborne particles.
